Recently my employer put me through the Prehospital Trauma Life Support course. I was a little hesitant on attending the course, but I will tell you, that it was very informational. I would recommend that at least take the PHTLS course once, so you have a better understanding on trauma and trauma patients. You can renew the certification every three years.
